The Meadowlands Racetrack will host the second annual SummerSounds Concert Series.
The concerts will be held on four consecutive Saturday nights in Paddock Park at the Meadowlands Racetrack, in conjunction with the biggest races in the sport of harness racing, including the $1 Million Meadowlands Pace (July 19) and the $1.5 Million Hambletonian on (Aug. 2).
Presented by Greater Media NJ Radio Group, the series will kick off on Saturday, July 12, when classic oldies station 1250 WMTR — AM presents an evening of performances headed by Lenny Coco and The Chimes, The Cameos and Who’s Johnny.
The night of racing will be topped by eliminations for the Meadowlands Pace and the $625,000 William Haughton Memorial.
The night will also feature the fourth and final Meadowlands Pace commemorative coffee mug and coaster set giveaway free to all paid admissions.

Lenny Coco and the Chimes will take the stage in Paddock Park from 5:30 — 6:30 p.m. performing their big hits, which include "Once in a While". They will be followed on stage by New Jersey oldies group, The Cameos, which first hit the charts in 1959 with "Rock and Roll Arabian Nights", from 7 — 9:30 p.m.
Who’s Johnny will perform strolling a cappella from 6:30 — 7 p.m. and 9:30 — 10 p.m. Who’s Johnny is a group of five singers, four of them brothers from Hopatcong who learned to harmonize as students at Hopatcong High School.
On July 19, Meadowlands Pace night, The Rock of New Jersey WDHA — FM 105.5 will present The Nerds (5:30 — 6:30 p.m.), who will be joined by Twelve 10 (7 — 9:45 p.m.) in concert.
WDHA radio personalities will host the evening and introduce the bands. WDHA has been the "Rock of New Jersey" for nearly 30 years and is based in Dover in the Morristown Market.
The Nerds have been one of the best cover bands in the country for more than 20 years, playing an eclectic blend of music from R&B, blues, classic rock, punk to Engelbert Humperdink.
Twelve 10 has gained a solid fan base across the tri — state area as one of the most multifaceted bands on the scene. They have opened for Sammy Hagar at the PNC Arts Center and performed at a tailgate party for the New York Jets.
On Saturday, July 26, WMTR will feature a classic oldies concert headlined by The Magic Moments Band (7 — 10 p.m).
The final SummerSounds concert sponsored by Magic 98.3 WMGQ, will be headlined by Total Soul (noon — 4 p.m.) as the the Meadowlands Racetrack harness meet closes out with a bang on Saturday, Aug. 2. Total SoulMoments Band's concert will take place on Hambletonian Day, featuring the $1.5 Million Hambletonian, the first leg of the trotting Triple Crown and the most prestigious trotting race in the world.
Total Soul is New York City’s party band, performing at clubs, casinos, weddings and corporate events throughout the tri — state area and country. Total Soul plays everything from Motown to today’s top pop and R&B sounds as well as jazz and big band standards of the 1940s, using a live band that ranges in size from 8 — 13 pieces.
WMGQ is Magic 98.3, an adult contemporary station licensed to Somerset, New Jersey and home to the Middlesex/Somerset/Union Market in North Central New Jersey.
