MAYOR’S SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Mayor’s Senior Citizen Advisory Committee has planned a bus trip to Monmouth Racetrack on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Buses will leave from behind the Little League field at 10 a.m. Those attending can either bring lunch or eat at one of the restaurants.
The trip is for Bergenfield residents ages 60 and above.
The cost is $5. Reservations may be made at Cooper’s Pond from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3. For cancellation, call 201-385-4690 or 201-385-4894.
 
ST. JOHN'S GOLDEN AGE CLUB
St. John’s Golden Age Club has scheduled the following trips:
n July 10 — Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. Bus departs 9 a.m. from the parking lot behind the Little Keague field at Melrose and Wildrose avenues, Call Bernadette at 201-385-1569.
n Sept. 23 — Ehrhardt’s Waterfront at Lake Wallenpaupack, Pa. Trip includes a train ride with lunch, show and fall foliage. Call Tom at 201-385-7904.
n Oct. 21 — Tour of Philadelphia, including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc., lunch and Ride then Duck. Call Pat at 201-385-1928.
Non-members are welcome on trips.
There will be no meetings in July and August. Beginning in September, meetings will be scheduled on the first and third Fridays of the month at 1:30 p.m. in Conlon Hall at St. John the Evangelist Church. Members should bring labels from Campbell and General Mills products and non-perishable food for the food pantry and give them to Connie.
 
BERGENFIELD SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER
The Bergenfield Senior Activity Center, located at Brookside Gardens in Bergenfield, invites seniors 60 years old and above to participate in its daily programs and activities. Lunch is served Monday through Friday for a suggested donation of $1.25.
 
ST. JOHN'S SENIOR CITIZENS
St. John’s Senior Citizens meets at 1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday of each month in Conlon Hall Cafeteria at St. John the Evangelist Church. New members are welcome.
AARP CHAPTER 1873
Bergenfield AARP Chapter 1873 is planning the following trips:
n Saturday, Aug. 9 — Pocono Downs Racing and Casino. Cost is $20 - $22.
n Tuesday, Aug. 12 — "Let the Good Times Roll" at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse. Cost is $70 - $72.
n Thursday, Oct. 9 – "The Producers" at Westchester Broadway Theatre. Dinner and show $75 - $77.
n Oct. 20-24 - Montreal and Quebec City, a five-day/four night trip.

Meetings of Bergenfield AARP Chapter 1873 are held at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Knights of Columbus hall, 61 Armour Place, Dumont.
Refreshments are offered at noon. Male volunteers are needed at 9 a.m. on meeting days to set up tables and chairs.

NEW MILFORD
 
NEW MILFORD SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER
The New Milford Senior Activity Center is planning a trip to the Resorts casino in Atlantic City on Tuesday, July 15. The bus will leave from the Bank of America parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Parking will be available at the borough hall parking lot.
Tickets will go on sale at noon July 8 at the senior center, 275 River Road. The cost is $19 with $26 slot credit.
On July 23, there will be a presentation on hearing loss at the senior center.
The annual Farmer’s Market coupons will be distributed at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25 at the senior center by a representative of the Division of Senior Services.
 
ST. JOSEPH'S LEISURE CLUB
St. Joseph’s Leisure Club meets at noon on the third Wednesday of each month at the Knights of Columbus hall on River Road in New Milford. New members are always welcome; seniors do not have to belong to St. Joseph’s parish.
