July is Mystery Movie Month at New Milford Library
July is Mystery Movie Month at the New Milford Public Library. Throughout July, every Thursday at noon a Mystery Movie will be shown.
Viewers may bring their lunch. Coffee and iced tea will be served.
The first film, on July 3, is "Murder at the Vicarage," one of Agatha Christie’s best mysteries. In the film, Jane Marple, played by Joan Hickson, needs all her intuitive understanding of criminal behavior to separate the killer from the suspects.
On July 10, Gene Wilder, playing the role of Larry Carter, has an uncanny talent for analyzing human behavior, but he finds a drama more sinister than he ever imagined in the film "The Lady in Question."
"Last Bus to Woodstock," an Inspector Morse film, stars John Thaw as the detective who uncovers a web of intrigue blackmail and hidden passions when he investigates the death of a young secretary in a local insurance office.
On July 24, Hercule Poirot, played by David Suchet, is drawn into a case of abduction and murder in "Murder on the Links."
Midsomer Wellow is the scene for the July 31 film, "Ring Out the Dead," in which a murderer is targeting the church bell – ringers and leaving behind puzzling clues that quote nursery rhymes.
The July mystery films are free and open to the general adult audience 18 years and older.
