Students receive awards at Paramus Catholic


 At the end of the academic year, Paramus Catholic High School recognized certain students for their achievement both in and outside of the classroom at the annual underclassmen awards ceremony.

Outstanding student awards were presented to students who have distinguished themselves throughout the year by maintaining the highest average in a class and have demonstrated intellectual curiosity and leadership through exemplary class participation.

Honorees from the Twin-Boro News area were May Flores of Bergenfield, 10th grade, geometry; Kareeza Viray of Bergenfield, 10th grade, and Matthew Crespo of Dumont, ninth grade, superior performance on the 2007 National Educational Development Test; Andrew Brigley of Dumont, 10th grade, English II; Thomas Polles of New Milford, 10th grade, Faith in Action Award; Lauren D’Imperio of Bergenfield, 10th grade, Music Award; Eileen Tiburcio of New Milford, ninth grade, Algebra II; Alexa Vargas of New Milford, 10th grade, English II; and Jennifer Scarpantonio of Dumont, 10th grade, English II.

One or two students from each class are selected by the teacher to receive the outstanding student award.

Activity awards are presented to those students recognized for their outstanding participation in one or more of the many after-school activities offered at Paramus Catholic. These students have distinguished themselves by their enthusiasm and dedication to the club or activity.

Campus Ministry Awards are presented to students for their dedication to service and leadership in programs run by Campus Ministry, including retreats service opportunities, liturgical ministers and other aspects of the spiritual life of Paramus Catholic.
