Arthur F. Schultz

NEW MILFORD — Arthur F. Schultz, 75, of New Milford, died June 2.

He retired from the Bergen County Utilities Authority 20 years ago.

An Army veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of American Legion Post 21, Cresskill, and Bergenfield Elks Lodge 1477 for 37 years.

Mr. Schultz was the husband of Patricia A. (nee Bellini) and the late Carol (nee Hughes), who died in 1985; the father of Steven and his wife Debbie Schultz, Donna and her husband Charles Zito, and Judith and her husband Ray Murms; and brother of Lillian and her husband Chester Umstead, Robert and his wife Margaret Schultz, and William and his wife Leona Schultz.

Also surviving are by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was Thursday, June 5 at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. Interment was in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis TN 38105.

Takao Matsuzaki

DUMONT — Takao Matsuzaki, 82, of Santa Clara, Calif., formerly of Dumont, died June 2 in Sunnyvale Health Care Center, Santa Clara.

He was born in Utah, and lived in Dumont for many years, before moving to California several years ago.

Mr. Matsuzaki was an accountant in corporate finance before retiring. He was a World War II Army veteran.

His wife, Betty Morita Matsuzaki, died in 1980. Surviving are his sons, Bob and John.

A graveside service was held Monday, June 9 George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.

Anne. P. McLean McGrath

DUMONT — Anne P. McLean McGrath of Old Bridge, formerly of Dumont, died June 4.

She was born in New York City, lived in Dumont for many years and the last four years in Old Bridge.

Her husband, John, died in 1986; a daughter, Kathleen McCann, is also deceased.

Surviving are her two sons, Brian and his wife Georgie McGrath of Spring Lake, and Daniel McGrath of Dumont; a brother, Frank McLean of Budd Lake; and a sister, Patricia O’Connor of Norwood. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was offered Saturday, June 7 at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont, with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.

Antonio G. Guacci

BERGENFIELD — Antonio G. Guacci of Edison, formerly of Bergenfield, died Thursday, May 29.

He was the husband of the late Mary Guacci, the father of Annmarie Laufeld and her husband Harold, Vincent Guacci, and Anthony Guacci and his wife Michelle; the brother of Gaetano Guacci and his wife Rosalba, Carmine Guacci and his wife Ermelinda, Michelle Guacci, Stefano Guacci and the late Giovanni Guacci; and the grandfather of Alex and Julie Guacci and Sarah Laufeld. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

There was a funeral liturgy on Tuesday, June 3 at Church of the Assumption in Emerson. Interment was in Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mr. Guacci’s name may be made to your charity of choice.

Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, was in charge of arrangements.

Millie Giudice

DUMONT — Millie Giudice (nee Cofrancisco), 90, died Tuesday, May 20 at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn, she spent the last 28 years in Dumont and Cario, N.Y.

"Mrs. G." retired seven years ago from Selzer School in Dumont where she was a lunchroom aide for 25 years.

Predeceased by her husband, Dominic V., in 1995 and a son, Vincent in 2005, she is survived by her children, Angie and her husband Ron Galli of Dumont, Louis and his wife Georgette Giudice of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; daughter-in-law Jennifer Giudice; a sister, Jean Nugent of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six grandchildren and eight-great grandchildren.

A funeral mass was offered Saturday, May 24 at St. Therese R.C. Church in Cresskill. Interment was in George Washington Memorial Park.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Arrangements were made by Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.

Theodora Sigalos

DUMONT — Theodora "Teddy" Sigalos, 81, of Dumont died May 25 in Emerson Health Care Center, Emerson.

She was born and raised and lived most of her adult life in Dumont.

Before retiring in 1963, she was a buyer for United Piece Dye Works in New York City.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Peter and Mary Magazeno Sigalos; her brother, Gus Sigalos, in 1995; and her sister, Mary Sigalos in 2006.

Surviving are cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

A funeral service was held Thursday, May 29 at the French Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont, with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Donations in her memory may be made to Life Source Hospice, 230 E. Ridgewood Ave., Paramus NJ 07652.

Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.

Mario J. Perfetto

BERGENFIELD — Mario J. Perfetto, 85, of Bergenfield died May 24 at home.

He was born in Leominster, Mass., lived in Dumont for 39 years and the last three years in Bergenfield.

Mr. Perfetto was an Army veteran of World War II.

Before retiring in 1981, he was an engineer of New York City Department of Water Supply, working for 35 years.

Surviving are his children, John and his wife Janice Perfetto of Norwood, Susan Merlo of Bergenfield, Thomas and his wife Christine Perfetto of Dover, Laura and her husband John Slade of Dumont; his brothers, Nicholas Perfetto of the Bronx, N.Y., and Joseph Perfetto of Kingston, N.Y.; his sisters, Conchetta Lynch of Florida and Rita Barr of Virginia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was offered Thursday, May 29 at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont, with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 U.S. Highway I, North Brunswick NJ 08902-4301.

BERGENFIELD — Rosamma Mathew Joseph, 82, of Bergenfield died May 25 in Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

Surviving is a son, Sojan Joseph of Bergenfield.

A community wake service was held at Tuesday, May 27 at the French Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.

The Holy Qurbana and funeral service was held Wednesday, May 28 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Garfield. Interment was in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.

 John W. Colgan

DUMONT — John W. Colgan, 78, died Wednesday, May 28 at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

He was Born in Long Island, N.Y., and lived the last 39 years in Dumont and Washington Heights.

Mr. Colgan retired 15 years ago from the Tenafly Board of Education, working there for 13 years.

An Army and Navy veteran of Korean conflict, he was a member of Greenwood Lake Elks Lodge 2067 for more than 30 years and Cresskill American Legion Post 21 for more than 28 years.

Predeceased by a son, John-John, in 1979, he is survived by his wife, Bea (nee Monahan); his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was offered Tuesday, May 27 at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont. Cremation was private.

Donations in his memory to Deborah Hospital Foundation, New Jersey Region, P.O. Box 820 Browns Mills NJ 08015 would be appreciated.

Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.
