Otto C. Stevens
DUMONT — Otto C. Stevens, 75, of Dumont died April 4.
He was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1954. He lived in Dumont for 42 years.
Mr. Stevens retired in 1985 from Alpine Gardens in Alpine, working as a mason for 13 years.
He was the husband of Imgard (nee Majewski); father of Edie Ryerson; grandfather of Ricky and Jackie Ryerson; and brother of Helga Schatzberg of Long Island, Marie Schuh of Germany, and Karl-Heinz Kostrewa of Germany. He was predeceased by a brother, Manfred Kostrewa.
The funeral was Tuesday, April 8, from the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont, with interment in Woodside Cemetery.

Eileen Marie Jamieson
ENGLEWOOD — Eileen Marie Jamieson (nee Sherman), 85, of Englewood, formerly of Bergenfield, died April 6.
She was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and raised in Philadelphia. She was a resident of Bergenfield for 53 years.
She was widowed in 1986 after 43 years of marriage to Walter Jamieson.
A well-known artist, she shared her skills around Bergen County in workshops and senior centers and with stroke victims for the Red Cross. Her paintings are in collections from Connecticut to Texas.
Mrs. Jamieson was an exhibiting member of the Bergen County Artists Guild, a 30-year member and chairwoman of the arts committee of the Women’s Club of Bergenfield and a member of the Bergenfield Council for the Arts.
A former president of the Bergenfield Garden Club, she also won many awards for painting and writing.
She served more than 10 years as historian and newsletter editor of the Bergen County Mineralogy and Paleontology Society.
Recently, she was a member of the Southeast Center for Independent Living in Englewood.
Predeceased by her sister, Anne Elizabeth Powers, she was the mother of Walter John of Hackensack, Katherine Anne and her husband Allen Maietta of Franklin Lakes, Michael Philip and his wife Lynn of Clarksville, Tenn., and Peter Joseph Jamieson of New York City and recently of Hackensack.
She was also the grandmother of Katherine Pepe and her husband, Brad, and Bonnie Jamieson; Keith, Steven, Stephanie and Nicholas Maietta; Robert Jamieson and his wife Lisa, Army Capt. William Jamieson and his wife Michelle, Christine Grogan and her husband Shawn; great-grandmother of Dylan, Alisha, Danielle and Kaitlyn Jamieson; Stephanie and Justin Currier; Nathaniel and Ryan Todd; and great-great-grandmother of Paris and Jocelyn.
There was a funeral liturgy at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield, on Tuesday, April 15. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Arthur F. Cressotti
BERGENFIELD — Arthur F. Cressotti, 67, of Bergenfield died Feb. 20.
He was a long-time resident of Bergenfield and Rockland County, N.Y.
Mr. Cressotti graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1958, after which he served as a military policeman in the Army until 1964.
After his military career, he was employed by the family sausage company, Ideal Sausage Co. in Hackensack and later by Continental Capri Inc. of Englewood.
Predeceased by his parents, Arturo and Filomena (nee Mazza), he is survived by Debra, his wife of 30 years; his children, Maureen, Mary Ann and her husband Charles Oddo, Michael and his wife Patricia, and Alyssa; and two two grandchildren, Isabella and Lucas.
A celebration of his life is scheduled noon Saturday, April 19at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Tenafly.

Mary Ellen Harrington
CRESSKILL — Mary Ellen Harrington (nee Daly), 71, of Cresskill died April 9 at her home.
She was born and raised in Elizabeth and was a graduate of St. Benedictine Academy and the Washington School for Secretaries.
She was a resident of Cresskill for 43 years.
Mrs. Harrington was employed by Penetone Chemicals as a secretary for 14 years. She was an active member of the Bergen Irish Social Club and Cresskill Senior Citizen Club.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill.
For nearly 40 years, she worked at Cresskill’s election boards and she supported the many activities in which her children were involved.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Nora Daly.
Surviving are James, her husband of almost 49 years; her children, Jim Harrington and his wife Mary Jane of Hewitt, Kathleen Harrington of Long Branch, and Col. Joseph Patrick Harrington and his wife Nancy of Alexandria, Va; grandchildren, Shawn, Liam and Aidan; and a sister, Kathleen Sorge and her husband Peter of Berlin, N.J.
There was a funeral liturgy at St. Therese R.C. Church, Cresskill, on Saturday, April 12 followed by interment in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.

John ‘Jack’ Hassett
BERGENFIELD — John (Jack) Hassett, 66, of Bergenfield died April 9 at his home.
Born in Dromina, Charlevile, County Cork, Ireland, he was employed by the Caryle Hotel in New York for 41 years.
Mr. Hassett was the husband of the late Kathleen (nee Gallagher); father of Timothy and his wife Claudia, Patrick and Anthony; and grandfather of Timo and Selina. Also surviving are three brothers and four sisters in Ireland, brothers- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
There was a funeral liturgy at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield, Monday, April 14 followed by interment in Mount Cemetery, Tenafly.

Gloria R. Ricco
DUMONT — Gloria R. Ricco, 81, of Cresskill, formerly of Dumont, died April 5 in Potomac Homes, Cresskill.
She was born in Union City and lived in Dumont except for the past few years.
Before retiring in 1988, she was a secretary for the Englewood Cliffs Board of Education for 22 years.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont; a member of its Rosary and Altar Society; a member of the Columbiettes of St. John’s Council 1345, Knights of Columbus; and a member of the Dumont Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her brother, retired Dumont Police Lt. Abdon Ricco, and her sister, Blanche A. Ricco, who died in 2000. She is survived by her brother, John Ricco of Cresskill, two nieces and three nephews.
A funeral Mass was offered April 9 in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Marilyn P. Ambrosini
ORADELL — Marilyn P. (McCaffrey) Ambrosini, 81, of Middleboro, Mass., formerly of Oradell, died April 1 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.
The wife of Vincent J. Ambrosini, she was born in New York on April 11, 1926.
Mr. and Mrs. Ambrosini were married Jan. 26, 1957 in the Bronx, N.Y.
She had lived in Oradell for 42 years and was a resident of Middleboro since 2007.
Mrs. Ambrosini was the office manager for Dr. Ravitz’s dermatology practice in Hackensack for more than 20 years before retiring.
She was a communicant of Holy Family R.C. Church, East Taunton, Mass., and a former parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Haworth, where she and her husband served as Eucharistic ministers.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mullen) McCaffrey; mother of Christopher J. Ambrosini of Middleboro, Mass., and Pamela J. Ambrosini and her fiancé Michael Cote of Bellingham, Mass.; grandmother of Emma and Christopher C. Ambrosini; and sister of John McCaffrey of Vero Beach, Fla., and Joan D’Angelo of Newport Beach, Calif.
The funeral was Thursday, April 10, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Haworth, There was also a Mass on Friday, April 11, at Holy Family R.C. Church in East Taunton, Mass., followed by interment in the family plot in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, R.I.
Arrangements were made by the Frech Funeral Home of Dumont.
