Ecumenical service to be held

BERGENFIELD

The Church of the Good Shepherd in Bergenfield will host the annual ecumenical Thanksgiving service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26.

The clergy and lay members from Catholic and Protestant churches and Jewish temples unite beyond denominational and religious differences for the special service.  Buddhists, Moslem and atheists are also welcome.

Refreshments will follow the service. The church will serve kosher cookies and non-dairy products for Jewish attendees.

Offerings collected at the service will go to  the Center of United Methodist Aid to the Community Ecumenically Concerned Helping Others (CUMAC/ECHO), a nonprofit organization, distributing food and clothing to hundreds of low-income families in Paterson every day. For more information on the program, visit the Web at www.cumacecho.org.

The Church of the Good Shepherd is located at New Bridge Road and S. Prospect Ave.
