On the Fourth of July, we will be in Chicago visiting old friends. We lived there for eight years in the ’60s, and they are planning a party for us.
 Heat wave was too much

I’m writing this in my air-conditioned house. My worst fear is that we’ll lose power, and I’ll have to go to our community pool and stay in the water until dark.
